Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 8, 2026

Fairway Miles has no accounts and no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or contact details, and we could not identify you from anything the app collects.

Your logbook stays with you

The rounds you log — courses, dates, scores, the names of people you played with, notes and photos — are stored on your device and, if iCloud is on, in your own iCloud account so they sync between your devices. We cannot see any of it, and none of it is sent to us.

What the app collects

Fairway Miles uses Google Firebase to understand how the app is used. Firebase collects a randomly generated installation identifier, an anonymous user identifier, and usage events — for example which screen was opened, that a round was saved and how many photos it had, which pin was earned, or that an import found a certain number of rounds. These events never include course names, the names of people you played with, places, scores or notes. If you tell us which app you keep your rounds in, so we can support importing from it, the name you type is sent too. As with most services on the internet, Google estimates a coarse location (such as the country or city) from the network address. Firebase Crashlytics also collects crash reports, which include the device model, the operating system version and a technical description of the failure.

None of this is tied to your identity, because we do not have it. Google’s handling of this data is covered by the Firebase Privacy and Security page and the Google Privacy Policy.

Why

To see which parts of the app are used and where people get stuck, to decide what to build next, and to find and fix crashes. That is the whole of it.

What we do not do

Your data is never sold or shared. There is no advertising in Fairway Miles, no advertising identifier is collected, and nothing is used to track you across other apps or websites.

Apple services

iCloud stores and syncs your logbook in your own iCloud account, where we cannot see it. The App Store handles the optional Fairway Miles Pro purchase, including whether you have made it; we never see a payment method or a billing address. Maps and location services are provided by Apple. These are Apple’s services, governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy rather than this one.

Retention and deletion

Analytics and crash data are retained for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically. Deleting the app stops all future collection. Because we cannot tell which installation is yours, we may not be able to find data for a specific device, but if you would like us to try, email support@faceoff.day and we will do what we can. Your logbook itself is yours to delete: remove rounds in the app, or delete the app’s data from iCloud in your device’s Settings.

Children

Fairway Miles is suitable for all ages. It contains no advertising, no chat and nothing that is published for others to see, and it collects nothing that could identify a child or anyone else.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, the EEA or California, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. Because we hold no information that identifies you, in practice this means the installation data described above; write to the address below and we will act on it. Our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes we will update the effective date above. Questions to support@faceoff.day.
